THE SOLUTION

To install an Arctic Air hazardous air filtration over pressure safety  system designed to meet the industries guide lines for this type of air quality equipment fitted to mobile machinery and plant equipment.

These systems are designed to filter all substances harmful to human health from  particulate  matter to harmful gases,  then pressurise  and monitor the internal cabin pressure to a safe level for the operator inside. It is this slightly higher than atmospheric (positive pressure) that prevents the contaminents from entering the cabin.

The result is a constant supply of clean ,fresh oxygenated air for the operator to breath.

The benefits of machine operator safety can not be ignored , if you show that you take the Health and safety of your workers seriously,  apart from actually protecting them from the possibilities of serious health issues or death, you will have a much happier work force which in turn will increase productivity levels, reduce time off work , demonstrate to Health and Safety officials   that you are totally comitted to their welfare  and not forgetting the benefits of protecting the machines expensive  electronic's systems in particular when working in high levels of Ammonia which causes corrossion in the wiring looms and expensive control panels.

Large companies such as Network Rail are now using the Arctic Air hazardous air filtration overpressure safety system to protect the operators of their rail track repair systems.

During the operation of the track repair process large amounts of dust is generated from the stone ballast under the tracks. Respirable Crystalline Silica Dust is very hazardous to human health, the  particle size is very small and finds it's way down deep into the lungs Alveoli where it stays causing serious debilitating respirable problems or even death.

Working closley with Network Rails engineering department a solution was found to protect the operators against Respirable crystalline silica and they are now working inside their cabs with efficient  Arctic Air filtration overpressure systems generating positive pressures and filtration efficiency to industry standards.

All of the Arctic Air overpressure systems are ATEX certified category 3D equipment  for use in ATEX zone 22 environments such as Bio Mass, and cement works where their is a risk of explosion.

G.E.O. construction in the Philippines are now using the Arctic AIr  ATEX AA6 system on their Doosan loading shovels to protect their employees against the dangers of cement dust.

Port of Tyne are using the Arctic Air ATEX AA3 system on their Mustang skid steer machines that are lowered into an extremely hostile environment in the  hold of Biomass container ships so that their operators are protected against the carcinogenic Biomass dust as they clean the ships hold.

We are confident that we have a system for many Hazardous environments and if a new challenging enquiry comes our way we will endeavour to find a solution to your needs.

This Network Rail track repair   train is fitted with specially   adapted  Arctic Air AA5 filtration overpressure systems to protect the operators against  the hazards of breathing  respirable crystalline silica dust during track maintenance. High levels of silica dust is generated throughout the process of removing the ballast, cleaning it and then replacing it.

This Mustang 2109 skid steer loader is fitted with an Arctic Air AA3 filtration overpressure system which is protecting the operator against breathing carcinogenic Bio Mass dust whilst clearing the hold of the ship. The customer also specified the overpressure system should be ATEX certified to meet the needs of their health and safety policy and the risk of explosion.

All Arctic Air overpressure systems are ATEX Zone 22 category 3D equipment certified.

The small Dulevo sweeper (above left) also has an Arctic Air AA3 system fitted for use inside a large Bio Mass bulk storage facility which is also ATEX Zone 22 certified.

This Hitachi ZW180-5 is fitted with an Arctic Air AA6 cabin pressuriser fitted with a Pre filter, HEPA filter and a 15 kilogram activated carbon filter to protect the operator against the hazardous environment in a composting facility.

This Liebherr  566 is fitted with an Arctic Air AA4 cab filtration overpressure safety system to protect the operator from the hazards when working inside an enclosed mushroom composting facility.

The system is fitted with a P1 Pre filter, a P3 Hepa filter and a 20 kilogram  granulated activated carbon filter to protect against Ammonia gas.

Contact us if you have a requirement for operator protection against composting hazardous dusts and gases.

This is a selection of high quality industry standard   PRE (P1) ,  HEPA P3  and activated carbon  filters.

All filters are fitted with high quality seals for maximum sealing efficiency and have a strong aluminium frame.

Hepa filters are 99.99% efficient at filtering hazardous dust down to  0.3 microns particle size.

There are a wide range of activated carbon filters differing in size and types of activated carbon depending on the type of gas you are protecting the operators against.

These filters are high quality and must not be compared to lower quality carbon filters where the filter paper is merely impregnated with a small amount of carbon.

Our filters , as an example are  595mm x 595mm x 100mm and contain  20 kgs of granulated activated carbon.

You can also fit more than one of these filters if the gas  pollution level is excessively high and still have room for  particulate filters ensuring complete protection.

Different types of Activated carbon are available as a single carbon type of filter media or as a mix to protect against more than one hazardous gas.
