CHOOSING AN AIR CONDITIONER.

The main statement that is put to me from customers looking for an air conditioner for their motor home or caravan is that, they are looking for a/c for a vehicle that is 4,5,6,or how ever many metres in length their vehicle may be.

They may be travelling to the South of France in the height of summer with temperatures exceeding 30 degree's centigrade, and have four or five people in the van with the dog, there will invariably be electrical items creating heat and the insulation in the van will be pretty poor at best!

The reality is  that all of the above will have a masive effect on the heat load inside the vehicle and if this was your office or front room at home you could have your pick of a wide variety of air conditioning systems specifically sized to cope with the heat load calculation, the end result would be an  AIR CONDITIONED ROOM,   Happy Days !!

Unfortunately you will probably never be able to Air condition your vehicle properly because the reality with caravans and motorhomes is that leisure industry only manufactures a small range of air conditioners which you will be able to start and run on the stingy amount of power the camp sites give you.

In fact I could narrow it down to  one single unit , being the Telair 7300H, sure we sell smaller capacity units which draw less power to start and run them but you don't get something for nothing in this game, the cooling out put is also lower which is fine for lower ambient conditions. We also sell higher output units better suited for higher ambients but you might struggle to start them unless you have one of our on board generators fitted.

It seems logical therefore to choose one with a good all round cooling  and heating performance that only draws a small amperage so you can start and run it on the camp sites.

so you might have a massive motor home that requires lots of cooling, but you cant have it unless you make provisions to power it your self, and then you will still  only be able to have around 3.2 kw.

There are situations where I have installed lower and higher out put air conditioners but the one we install most of is the reliable Telair 7300H.

The full range can be viewed in the Telair brochure opposite and I can be contacted if you wish to discuss your individual requirements further.

Silent 7300H - 230 volt

Monoblock conditioners specially designed to be installed on the roofs of medium- to large-sized motorhome and caravans.Special care has been taken to ensure LOW NOISE both inside and outside.

• HEAT PUMP - High-Efficiency Heat Pump heating supplies 2.3 kW heating power (8000 BTU) with only 0.98 kW consumption. The heat pump is effective for outside temperatures down to -2°C; below this temperature, its efficiency is considerably reduced.

• AUTOMATIC CONTROL - By actuating the AUTO function, the air conditioner selects the most suitable ventilation speed and the cooling or heating function automatically.

• REMOTE CONTROL - all functions can be performed via the remote control

• Anti-ice protection PROBES
• INTERNAL FILTERS – can be changed and washed
• Suitable for roofs having thickness from 30 to 70 mm

Silent 12000H - 230 Volt

Monoblock conditioners specially designed to be installed on the roofs of medium- to large-sized motorhome and caravans.Special care has been taken to ensure LOW NOISE both inside and, by using double noise reduction system (DNR).

• HEAT PUMP - High-Efficiency Heat Pump heating supplies 2.0 kW heating power with only 0.95 kW 1.48 kW consumption. The heat pump is effective for outside temperatures down to - 2°C; below this temperature, its efficiency is considerably reduced.

• AUTOMATIC CONTROL - By setting a given temperature (e.g. 25°C), the digital control panel will automatically select the ideal ventilation speed and either the Cooling or Heating function.
Another major advantage offered by the conditioners in this series, is that they can be installed in a standard-sized aperture (40x40 cm), and also in the newly introduced larger aperture (44x44 cm on request). The tangential-type diffuser has activated charcoal filters.
